Differences in cortical contractile properties between healthy epithelial and cancerous mesenchymal breast cells

چکیده

Cell contractility is mainly imagined as a force dipole-like interaction based on actin stress fibers that pull cellular adhesion sites. Here, we present different type of isotropic contractions within the actomyosin cortex. Measuring mechanosensitive cortical suspended cells among various cell lines allowed us to exclude effects caused by fibers. We found epithelial display higher tension than mesenchymal cells, directly contrasting fiber-mediated contractility. These two types can even be used distinguish from cells. findings single level correlate rearrangement cortices assembled in multicellular aggregates. Epithelial form collective contractile cortex surrounding aggregates and further generate high surface reminiscent tissue boundaries. Hence, suggest this intercellular structure crucial for integrity. In contrast, do not reducing cohesion enabling escape

Crosstalk between Tumor Cells and Immune System Leads to Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition Induction and Breast Cancer Progression

Herein, we review the current findings of how a variety of accessory cells could participate in shaping the tumor microenvironment and supporting the mechanisms by which cancer cells undertake the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). EMT, a complex of phenotypic changes, promotes cancer cell invasion and creates resistance to chemotherapies. Among the accessory cells present in the EMT, imm...

Analysis of epithelial mesenchymal transition markers in breast cancer cells in response to stromal cell-derived factor 1

Introduction: Metastasis is the main cause of cancer death; however, the underlying mechanisms of metastasis are largely unknown. The chemokine of stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF1) and the process of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT), both have been declared as important factors to promote cancer metastasis; however, Conspicuously, the relation between them has not been recognized well...

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Trigger Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition in the HT-29 Colorectal Cancer Cell Line

Background and Objective: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) promote metastasis in colorectal cancer; however, the mechanism underlying this process is not fully understood. Epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a key step in tumor acquisition of metastatic phenotype. We aimed to investigate the effect of MSCs on the expression of EMT markers, as well as cancer stem cell markers in HT-29 col...

Interaction Between Ezrin and Cortactin in Promoting Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition in Breast Cancer Cells

BACKGROUND Epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) contributes to metastases in various types of tumors, and is also the key step in the breast cancer metastatic cascade. In our previous study, a mouse model containing human-derived normal breast tissue was established and allowed EMT/MET process of human breast cancer cells to be mimicked in a humanized mammary microenvironment. MATERIAL AN...

Intratumoral bidirectional transitions between epithelial and mesenchymal cells in triple‐negative breast cancer

Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and its reverse process, mesenchymal-epithelial transition MET, are crucial in several stages of cancer metastasis. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition allows cancer cells to move to proximal blood vessels for intravasation. However, because EMT and MET processes are dynamic, mesenchymal cancer cells are likely to undergo MET transiently and subsequently re...
